Charles Kingston

Charles Kingston, the editor of the REFIRE Intelligence Report (www.refire-online.com), is a native of Ireland and has been living and working in continental Europe for nearly 25 years.  This includes stints living in France and Norway, and many years living in Germany, apart from a 2-year sojourn working in South-East Asia.

After graduating from University College Dublin with a degree in Business Studies, he worked for an Irish exporting company, travelling extensively in Europe, the Middle East and North America, before moving to Germany to work with the Financial Times Group.

He later worked with the Globe and Mail of Canada, the Höfer Group in Singapore, and, while based in London, had Europe-wide responsibilities for the privately owned De Agostini Group of Italy.

He is an alumnus of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants in London, and a qualified EUREX derivatives trader, where he has worked for his own and third-party funds.

Prior to moving into real estate financing, he had his own consultancy business advising companies on strategies for European market entry.

In addition to English, he speaks fluent French, German and Italian.

In his free time, he can be found golfing in Ireland or windsurfing on the Walchensee.  Or, when at home, experimenting in the kitchen and relaxing with the latest thriller from Ian Rankin…or Stieg Larsson…or Frank Tallis…or…
